The Roots Rider Cheetah 2 Pro is the long-distance version of our cafe racer. Same frame and silhouette as the Cheetah 2, but with a 1440Wh battery instead of 840Wh, 1700W of peak output instead of 1200W, a 33 mph top speed, and a torque sensor alongside the cadence sensor. It carries the biggest battery and the longest claimed range of anything we sell.

The point of 1440Wh is not distance. It is not charging.
Almost nobody rides 100 miles in a day. What a battery this size actually buys is a week of not thinking about it: you plug in on Sunday and you do not touch the charger again until the following weekend.
That is the difference owners report most often. Range anxiety is not really about range — it is about the daily chore of remembering.
What one charge covers

The battery comes out
It unlocks with a key and lifts out of the frame, which matters more than it sounds. You charge it at a desk instead of dragging the bike indoors, you take it out of a bike left in a garage over winter, and you can carry a second one on a long ride.
Charge it indoors on a hard surface, use the supplied charger, and do not leave it charging unattended overnight. The pack is UL 2271 certified, which is the standard worth insisting on.
Who the Cheetah 2 Pro is for
Buy it if
- You want to charge once a week, not every night.
- You ride a long commute, or a heavy loop at weekends.
- You want torque sensing — smoother assist, especially uphill.
- You want the cafe-racer look with the biggest battery we sell.
Look elsewhere if
- You ride short trips — the Cheetah 2 is the same bike for less.
- You want a chopper silhouette — that is the Prowler.
- You need suspension — the Cougar has front and rear.
- You need it to fold — the Rebel 2 Pro folds and still does 80 miles.
In the box

Cheetah 2 Pro questions, answered
How far can the Cheetah 2 Pro go on one charge?
The 1440Wh battery is rated for up to 100 miles of pedal assist under the manufacturer's test conditions. Real range depends on assist level, terrain and rider weight — plan on 60 to 70 miles at a middle assist level.
What is the difference between the Cheetah 2 and the Cheetah 2 Pro?
Same frame and silhouette. The Pro has a 1440Wh battery instead of 840Wh, 1700W peak output instead of 1200W, a 33 mph top speed instead of 28 mph, and adds torque sensing alongside cadence sensing.
What is torque sensing and why does it matter?
A torque sensor measures how hard you push the pedals rather than just whether they are turning. The assist arrives smoothly and in proportion to your effort, which matters most when pulling away uphill or loaded.
Is 33 mph legal where I ride?
Class 3 tops out at 28 mph in most US states, so 33 mph sits above it. Many owners set a lower assist level for road use. Check your state and city rules before you ride at the bike's top speed.
How long does it take to charge?
Around 8 to 9 hours from empty on the supplied charger — a big battery takes a long night. Most owners top it up rather than running it flat.
How much weight can it carry?
Up to 400 lb of total payload.
Is the battery certified?
Yes. UL 2849 for the bike and UL 2271 for the battery.
Range, speed and payload figures are the manufacturer's published specifications, measured under their test conditions. Your results will differ with rider weight, terrain, tire pressure, temperature and assist level. A top speed of 33 mph is above the Class 3 limit in most US states. It is your responsibility to check and comply with the rules where you ride. Roots Rider is operated by GHRAM LLC, Wyoming.
