Who you are actually buying from
Roots Rider is the trading name of GHRAM LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States, filing number 2026-002057995, at 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801. It is a small business, not a marketplace and not a drop-shipping front with a rotating catalogue. We sell nine electric bikes and the accessories that fit them, and that is the whole shop.
Every order ships from one of our two United States warehouses, in California and in New Jersey. Nothing crosses a border on its way to you, so there are no import duties, no customs paperwork and no six-week wait.
Why so few bikes
Because we would rather know nine bikes properly than list four hundred we have never seen. Every model on this site comes from the same American manufacturing partner, whose bikes carry UL 2849 certification for the bike and UL 2271 for the battery on the certified models, and who has been selling these exact frames in the United States for years. Their owners have left more than 650 published reviews across the models we carry, and we show you those reviews, attributed, rather than pretending we have our own.
The range covers four needs and no more. Folding commuters that fit in a car boot. Step-through utility bikes for errands and passengers. A long-tail cargo bike whose rear deck is rated to carry two children. And cafe-racer and chopper builds for riders who want to be looked at.
What we will and will not tell you
Range figures on this site are the manufacturer's, measured under favourable conditions, and we say so every time we print one. A 100-mile rating means a light rider on flat ground in low assist. Yours will be lower. We would rather you know that before you buy than discover it on a Tuesday morning halfway to work.
Our returns policy says plainly who pays for what. If a bike arrives faulty, damaged in transit or is the wrong item, we collect it, we pay the freight, you are refunded in full and there is no restocking fee. If you simply change your mind, the return freight and a 20% inspection fee are yours, because a 70 lb bike travelling back across the country as freight is a real cost that somebody has to carry.
Riding legally, and safely
Electric bikes are regulated state by state, city by city and trail by trail. Before your first ride, check the class of bike allowed where you live, the maximum assisted speed, the minimum age, whether a helmet is compulsory and where riding is permitted. It takes ten minutes and it is your responsibility, not ours.
Wear a helmet. Read the manual before the first ride. And never modify the motor, the controller or the speed limiter: it is unlawful in most states, it makes the bike uninsurable, and it voids the warranty outright.
